Hi Again!
It’s been two weeks since I brought home my Skip Healy keyed flute. I can play a chromatic scale pretty easily now and have added playing scales in almost all keys into my warm up routine (this to get the mind and fingers to act as one, and to further my knowledge of playing in different keys.)
I played a gig tonight using the new flute and all went well until…
the lead vocalist called for a song played in E flat. E Flat???!!! ugh. My mind went blank, my fingers went on strike and nothing came out right. Luckily, the next song was in a much more enjoyable A!!!
All in all, a good night. And with St. Pat’s coming up, we’re booking more and more gigs locally.
Next time I’ll be ready - tomorrow will be spent focusing on the key of E flat…
