Eventually someone’ll manufacture a liquid-crystal-based emulsion that will change color when an electrical charge is passed through it ---- a chameleon car! An absolute must for would-be bank robbers!
Actually, there’s a paint color out there that is close. It changes color depending on the light and how it reflects. Unfortunately, that means on a cloudy day, the car looks like it’s khaki colored!!! But in sunlight, it’s really cool - moving through all the colors of the rainbow.
But with my idea, you could pass charges through it selectively. Blue bumpers, red fenders, green hood, no…whoops…the hood went yellow just then.
How long would it take for this to get coopted into animated advertising on wheels? Words and pictures appearing in the finish. Cavorting geckos pitching mortgages from the sides of moving Hummers… Pop-up ads for viagra… Dang, I need this patent…
there is a coat that has a camera sensor for front and back; soft LED that can transmit the what the front camera is seeing to the rear LED matrix; so you get the front picture on the rear of the coat-appears you are looking through the object. It doesn’t work if you move and it doesn’t get rid of the shape outline.
Who will be driving that? Michael has retired, Montoya’s in NASCAR, Jim Clark is dead so is Senna, can’t think of anyone faster than Kimi, so must be getting ready to lap whoever is driving that kart
We used to see WRC over here in the states and I thought that was ALOT better than NASCAR. I miss that grumpy look when he finishes down on time. Even my wife thought it was good racing and I’ve dragged her through the Can-AM Wars way back when.
I think Honda will give a good showing this year. Settled team, good car and Button should have that can’t win monkey off his back after picking up a 1st place last year. Really though I don’t care who wins as long as it’s not Ferrari.
Very good point Chrisoff. Honda investments and Button’s growing self-confidence made a competitive car at the end of the season. Ferrari had the best car for the whole second term but it wasn’t enough to beat Renault’s liability. Kimi’s a very good pilot, but not the ice-man everyone told unlucky if you want, but he can’t keep concentrate when pressed.
Carlos Sainz is nearly national pride: He won one or two World Rally Championships and had a very dramatic defeat of a third one with an homeric breakdown losing 1st position at less than 100 mtrs to the end. Now he’s doing his first Paris-Dakkar.
Sylvester,
Renault were the thing to have last year, even when they took the mass damper out, the front of the car was better sorted than the rest. It generally had the better tyre and my fear is that when Alonso discovers that the Woking car is not outstanding, that will be it.
Despite his ‘doubtful moments’ Schumey would bring cars home with missing gears or lesser faults.
Perhaps we should go back to the days of riding mechanics or welcome NASCAR to Europe.
Maybe the problem is that we still look on F1 as a sport when it is really big business.

That’s precisely what Alonso stated at the end of the season tired as he was that Ferrari, Honda and McLaren had great team strategies and he seemed like fighting against his own team.
Undoubtedly, Schummacher has been “The Pilot” of an era. He’s amongst the greatest. He’s made Ferrari bright again settling the bases for a exciting new season. I can see taht Kimi won’t be that high. Mechanical problems, lack of concentration and general misfortune will arise again.
Fernando is yet to see if he’s only a very good pilot, or one of the few great pilots ever. Two world Championships are a good start and patriotical issues aside, my bet is that he’s making McLaren World Champion this next season.
