I’m not familiar with some of those people/groups. Is there any piping on the school’s CD named after a piper?

Seamus Rochain is likely to be playing the man’s B set so that seems appropriate. The main concert, from which all tracks were taken, usually doesn’t have many pipers as far as I know (I went to the 1981 one to see Seamus Ennis but never since) and if you don’t know many of the players, well maybe you should find out what you’re missing.
Ronan Burke had played a couple of tracks on his Clare FM show last Thursday. Sounded pretty good.
A treasure!
Absolutely gorgeous playing of Sonny’s Mazurka and John Doherty’s by Margaret Rea, Brid O’Donohue, Deirdre O’Brien, and Martin Curtin: slow, rhythmic, floating. It was an early start this morning to a long day of work, but I’ve already pulled out the whistle to stumble along… work can wait!
Thanks, Peter, for the heads-up.
Note it’s Brid and some of her pupils (Deidre is one of her daughters) who are 15-17 years old. Same for the Ceoltoiri Na Cathrach. My guess it’s Brid playing the flute Marian (not Martin) playing the whistle while the other two dance.
They (Brid, family and pupils, past and present ) have recorded a CD to celebrate Brid has been teaching 20 years, will be out before christmas.
