Wise of you to start your “on order” experience with Tipples. They’re great bang for the buck and you won’t have to wait long.
Some of us are suffering with longer waits. Hey Doug, how long would it take you to make me a keyed Olwell?
Doc
Congratulations!!
It’s always exciting to buy something new
I’m waiting a low D Tipple flute in the mail and can’t wait either!
If you live in the USA, you have to have noticed the effects of the economic recession. People are tightening there belts and holding back on discretionary spending. People mostly are trying to sell flutes rather than buy new ones. However, my best 3-piece flute with lip plate headjoint and internal wedge that I sell for $100 in the USA currently sells for 50 pounds in the UK and 63 Euros in Europe. Chris, living in the UK, took full advantage of my half price sale, and, of course, I am happy to have the business.
However, it is another story if you plan to visit Ireland, the UK, or Europe, in which case you had better bump up your credit card credit line. As I found out in London last June, a meal that might have cost $20 in the USA suddendly jumped up to $40. And, to top it off, everyone was driving on the wrong side of the street, as well.
I cant think of a better time to get over to the US for a break! Noticed in the town centre today we are getting nearly double the $ to one £!
With 1 week left till the school holidays over here…a trip across the pond might be an idea!
I know the feeling, I go to Ireland at least once a year. I have seen the dollar go from about $0.75 to E1.00 in 2002 to last year $1.50 to E1.00. I am going next month and I am expecting by the time I get there for it to be $1.60 or more to E1.00. Plus, the prices for everything has gone up. I am not sure what I will do after this next trip. One thing I am greatful for is that is one of my few worries.
Cheers:)
