new arrival soon

Just got e-mail confirmation that my new hygrometer has been shipped, yes shipped, and it should arrive soon. If anyone is interested, let me know and I can post pics and even specs for you. I want to thank those on the board for their advice and comments about hygrometers. Did not go with the recommended, but did find the newer model and I Know it will be dynomite.

I’ve got a digital one that I’m quite pleased with. However, I’d still like to see a picture of the one you decided to get.

I believe this was Piper7’s attempt at humor, Bill.

Well, he/she sure fooled me. I figured it would be useful for a piper, what with humidity sensitive reeds. I purchased mine during my piping experiment.

Bill

Suizen, I sent you a private message with the details. Will let you know once I receive it.

Piper7, thanks. Looks like it’ll do a great job.

It is useful, and if it wasn’t a joke, I apologize. It just seemed that, since Piper7 recently ridiculed a proud owner of a new wooden flute who posted pictures for “object worship”, that excitement over the arrival of a humidifier, complete with the suggestion of posted pictures, was a sendup. If not, then the irony of his/her excitement is too amazing to get into.

Apology accepted Gordon.

Certainly looked like another troll to me too…

Well, Piper7 has been known to be a bit of a, umm, lets say gadfly.

Why so secret?
Piper7, will you post a URL to the hygrometer please?

Shall we let it go?
A new sun rises every day.

Lots of people, when they
come to this message board,
have to find their voice
and how to situate themselves.
Myself included. I’ve had
postings erased, on one
occasion I almost managed
to get the board shut
down.

If I may speak straightforwardly,
Piper 7 is an intelligent
person who knows about music,
he’s capable of being reasonable
and he has some good things
to say. He’s sticking with us,
too. Plenty of people
like him have become valued members
of the board. Ignore the bad,
affirm the good, and err on
the side of inclusion, I say. Best

If you go to the Oregon Scientific instruments website they have a new model hygrometer. I think they are selling it for $79 now with a remote sensor thrown in. Go to the dealer site that offers free shipping. Looks like a good deal and has an atomic clock built in. Guess it could irradiate ya, but…I need an accurate hygro for a large area and many instruments so, I will post my impressions once I get it to working.

Amen, Jim.

N, fer sure

An atomic clock will not irradiate you, because it does not actually have any radioactive material in it. The government keeps the actual atomic clock (I believe there are a few of them now), and the ones you can buy are calibrated by a radio signal giving the time as determined by the central clock. So, you don’t have to worry there…

That is a relief. Thanks.
