New Alba!

My Bb came today! Love it love it love it. Now, I’m not as prolific a collector of whistles as some around these parts may be…(Have an Overton low D, expecting a Burke high D, and just got my Alba,) but they’re like new babies…I love them. Interesting thing w/the Bb is it seems to work best to fingertip the top 3 holes, and do a modified piper on the lower.
Thanks Stacey!

Yes, but they’re quiet when you want them to be, let you sleep nights, can be put down when you want to, allow you to eat meals two handed, and don’t need feeding and changing constantly… .

Glad to hear you like your whistle. The pipers grip thing is interesting. I don’t need it on the Alba Low C even and my fingers are average…but I’m forcing myself to on the lower hand for when that Low Bb magically appears…(waves at Stacey…did you get my mail?)..

Well, I’m apparently the genetic opposite of Mr. Spock, and can’t separate my tall and ring fingers. They insist on operating as a unit, which dictates how I must finger whistles, and it may be different from the way most people do it. My bro had the same problem, trying to finger my low D (had to pinky the bottom hole,) but then…we’re sibs, no surprise!

Well, the main thing is you can, and you enjoy it

Well… a vast majority of us may be under your average. I’ve heard of golfers who take par for average. I suspect your stats averaged in-between Rachmaninov’s and Horowitz’s spread. No wonder we fall below your piano peers pair’s par… *

More seriously, you might even handle Stacey’s low Bb as usual, if you ask her to offset the lower hole (R3) to the right, and the L3 to the left.

  • I’m just jealous…

Mabe your ones don’t but the you ar’nt ginning berth to em,not much fun when a low Bb is born :astonished:
