Dale,
You disappoint me. The guy was asking to know what whistles to avoid. No PM’s please.

I got a different impression, as Peter pointed out; I inferred that he (poster) was looking for a sort of dumping ground for all that’s missing on the Board regarding whistle reviews, i.e., totally negative reviews (he says “…no positives…”). I thought Peter and Dale both anticipated something not particularly helpful to anyone.
I also think the idea that there are never negative reviews is not correct, in that reviews should not as a matter of course be either just positive or negative. Take a good look at Wanderer’s latest review - it’s thorough, comprehensive and gives straight up both negative and positive aspects of the playbility and tone of the whistle, as well as enough specific information to help those who read it find things that one would find a positive or negative to one’s own tastes. I know I read enough to clearly decide whether or not I’d be interested in that particular whistle. And, that’s what reviews should be for - not for arousing prurient discussions or attacks on specific whistles.
Still love ya Whitmores, just not in agreement here.

Dale actually removed a few post ranging from ‘I sent a few of so and so’s back because they weren’t in tune’ top ‘such and such is a whistle I really hated because it was loud’.
It was probably great for venting frustrations but there was huge potential for it to turn very destructive.

Posting about locked threads is a no-no, and normally deleted. But I think Philo’s and Peter’s comments are worth letting stand here.
