I’m looking for suggestions for a 3 or 4 part double jig which sounds good on the pipes and which sound good when played slightly slower than normal - between 72 and 76 beats per min on the metronome). It’s to accompany some step dancers.
In the past I’ve played the 6-part Strayaway child but it doesn’t drive enough and doesn’t sound very convincing on the pipes (at least the way I play it). So far, all I can think of is Paddy Rafferty’s.

I’d vote for the Lark in the Morning…it’s rhythmically strong for the dancers and sounds great on the pipes.

Great suggestions all. Sport interests me - particularly the comments made about it on thesession.org. The Lark in the Morning is a tune I’ve been meaning to learn for some time now. Maybe this is a good excuse. I’ll have a look and a listen to the other suggestions and see what works. Keep them coming.
