I’m pretty sure I am never going to become a whistlemaker, but I came up with a funny description of a whistle that would be a nice business name:

When I started making whistles on my lathe, I considered calling them Whirled Wood, reflecting both the manufacturing process, and the source of the materials (whirled/world). My wife thought it was too cutesy, and so far, my own name will suffice
I think “Whirled Wood” or maybe even “Whirled Wind” would have been, and actually still is a fine name.
There is nothing wrong with a silly/cutesy or even outragous name. People remember stuff like that right away. A huge factor in brand recognition, is people rembering the name. OR at least thats my take on it. There is a place in New Zealand that makes wool sweaters and whatnot called “Ewe to You” talk a bout silly..
I remember when I moved into the old Peters Cartridge factory building, my first high-D whistle was called the “Saturday Night Special Whistle”.
Guns and whistles both have bores, one kills or defends life (depending how used) and other one celebrates life.
