I’m also in need of a teacher for the pipes. As I’ve mentioned once before, not a lot of uilleann pipers out here in Phoenix. At least, never hear about 'em, nor do I see them at our Irish festivals. Even more, our IRISH cultural center, doesn’t even have tutors for the Uilleann pipes.. However they do have them for the Highland pipes.. (Of course) So if anyone knows of any teachers out here, that would be awesome.
Also,
Was wondering what would be a wiser choice. Get the pipes first then teacher? Or wait until I have a teacher to help me pick out pipes, etc.
I’m going to be in Tucson in the last week in September. If there are pipers out there in Tucson, maybe we could share some tunes… Previously posted over in the Irish music form of this site as well
I am the only teacher in Phoenix for playing and reedmaking. I will be happy to provide as many lessons as you need as part of our pipers club down here. The number of pipers is slowly growing out here but we are still a fairly isolated group.
