Need a Star Trek fan

Hows this for OT ?..Seriously though,I found out a few days ago that Thom at “The Whistle Shop” is a serious Star Trek fan.
Sooo To thank him for all his advice and honesty, I’ve an Original Star Trek
picture for him. But since I’m NOT a fan
unlike my wife, I’d like an opinion from others. Or can I post it here ?
any thoughts Dale ?
Dan

Oh come on Dan, do post it! There are a lot more trekkies around here.

This was discussed quite a long time ago on this board, but newcomers may have missed it.

Live long and whistle

My name is Laura…

And… And… Well…

I am a Trekkie…

There I said it…(or at least written it)

Yet, my 18 year old son is the bigger trekkie. I seemed to have influenced him somehow…it runs in the family.

Have you ever seen the computer game starship armada? I have observed my son playing it.

Rather than “May you live long and prosper”

In keeping with topic…

Wow… It’s hard for me to think of a related line to say in regards to whistle players.

Oh… May you aquire many whistles and…

(Slow morning… I think I need breakfast)

Some one else can finish the line.

Laura

I’m a serious Trekkie, too, and have been since age 9 when I first saw original Trek re-runs and developed a raging crush on Mr. Spock. Now, however, TNG is my favorite, followed by Voyager. Did all you lovely people know that the 10th ST movie is hitting theaters late this year? ST: Nemesis will be the fourth movie featuring the Next Generation cast. I just found that out a few days ago. I knew it had been in the works for several years but because of writers’ strikes, etc., it got postponed for a while. But it’s in production now.

As far as WHOA goes…
RESISTANCE IS FUTILE

Dan

In a later episode “A Fistful of Datas” Picard is really playing it. It is a D whistle and he was using the correct fingerings - I was able to play along, except that Picard kept getting interrupted by people coming to see him every few notes. It was pretty funny.

Well, I thought so.

TNG is my favorite series. In fact, the episode “The Inner Light” is what got me interested in playing penny whistle. Glad to know there are some fellow Trekkies (or Trekkers) on the board.

The Ressikan flute folo at this site uses a file format of a type *.ram. Not familar with this… What do you use to play this format?

Isnt that a Real Audio Format ?

Dan

Could be Real Audio… I don’t have RA on my system so it would not be registerd.

Some years ago I used RA and found it to be such an invasive program (took over everything that was remotely audio-related) that I promised myself I would never use it again once that I finaly got rid of it… My loss I guess

CDon if you really want to listen to anything in particular, email me the (specific) url. I will see if I can convert it to MP3.

I appreciate the offer, but I don’t have anything specific at the moment. I got really all that I was looking for (not much) from a MIDI file

I think the art work looks great! Thom’ll love it.

By the way, I’m an original Trek fan dating back to when I watched Capt. Kirk and the gang during the original run on NBC. God I’m old.

Bruce

sigh

FWIW, I give the artwork a five out of five. But then, I’m another of them unrepentant three-decade Star Trek fans.

Very impressive Dan!!! Thanks so much - I’ll have to make that my new Desktop image.

I think that I've posted this here before, but here it is again anyway. This is a pic of me with a few acquaintances that I met on a recent Ressikan Flute fact-finding mission:

Thanks Again, Thom \ \ [ This Message was edited by: thomlarson on 2002-02-08 00:06 ]
