I played in a noisy pub yesterday and got completely drowned by guitars and people singing. What do I need to compete? (I’d rather not lug electronic equipment around.)
Oh, I almost forgot, I’m also looking for a web site that has a good selection of pub songs, preferably with guitar chords and sheet music, but the most important thing is the words. Anyone know where that could be found?

Small bore Susatos in Eb, D and C should do the trick. Small bore Bb is not as loud. I haven’t played in sessions, but have played in situations with very loud instruments.
A Cronnolly is much louder than a Susato, but be prepared…it takes a lot of air support to play, and the tone holes are as large as that of a flute. This thing has a massive 5/8 inch bore on a high D whistle.
If you have what it takes to play it though, it is a wonderful whistle, and is actually very well balanced between the octaves.
Dale also has one of these in wood, perhaps he could be convinced to say a word or two about his?
