Nature program PBS - Ireland

I’m surprised I haven’t seen it mentioned here yet. This week I chanced upon a great Nature program on public TV that did a tremendous job of explaining much of the natural history of Ireland and the unique landscape, flora and fauna there, from the oyster beds to the peat, Burren to the green pastures that support the Irish Stud, and how glaciation, the Gulf Stream and neolithic communities (et al) shaped the Island.

Too much to cover in one hour, but it was glorious to watch, and the program explained a lot of the animal husbandry practices that I saw. Background music was on pipes and whistle (if I had to recall a musician’s name I would guess Daniel Poore, but don’t bet money on it).

The program is available for purchase, and I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Ireland who has a particular interest in natural history.

They were doing a fundraiser here, so it was pre-empted… :frowning: Hope it gets rescheduled soon!
