Nate's Irish Tin Whistle Sound Files

Does anyone know what happened to Nate’s Irish Tin Whistle Sound Files site, http://www.jigs-n-reels.com? You can reach the front page but when you try to get to a tune you get returned a page with lots of “interesting” links, say-no-more, nudge-nudge, wink-wink.

My guess is he rented his domain name from a parent company and didn’t renew it.

That or he got hit by a hacker and hasn’t found out yet.

I vote for the expiration thing. According to register.com and their WHOIS page, the URL was registered to Nationwide Marketing on 4/19/02.
Additionally, the guy hadn’t updated his page in quite a while, and some sound files I sent him and emails I sent him months ago went unanswered.

don’t know what happened, but disappointed that it’s gone. Great site to get songs from. Anybody know any more similar sites to save a search?

Try this address (this is the one in the links page from the C&F Links Page))

http://www.verinet.com/~ktcrumb/tunes/index.php3

It will bring up the main page.

If you check the box next to the tune name, and then go back to the top and click “Play Selected Tune” the tunes will play. However, if you click on the tune name it will take you to the same place the other address does, instead of bringing up the sheet music like it use to.

Also, try doing a search for the tune in question from the site and type in some other word that might bring you to the sight… I just happed upon one of the pages that had the tune with sheet music on it by doing a search… Did that make sense?

Try the “wayback” website. If you have the old URL (you must have that), all you need to do is type in that URL on their search engine box, like this:

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.jigs-n-reels.com
