Doctor, I think about Uilleann Pipes when I wake up in the morning, during the day, and before I go to bed at night. I listen to piping CDs every possible moment, when my wife and I are listening to other ITM I pick out the pipes and listen to that part, when there are no pipes, I think about if this would be a good tune for the pipes…

My set is not even here yet (4 1/2 months to go! :party: ) and I’m already obsessed with the evil :devil: octopus.

So is there at least a name for this affliction? Seemingly there is no cure. Should I start researching divorce lawyers?

How about:
Uilleann Pipes Obsessive Playing Syndrome (UPOPS) pronounced you-pops
or…
Uilleann Pipes Obsession Disorder (UPOD) pronounced you-pod (with a tip of the hat to Mr. Darcy :slight_smile: )

Hmm … this Latin terminology for the description of a rare disorder such as yours is trickier than I thought. The Latin name for bagpipes is “tibia utricularis”, but coming up with a combining form for it with -mania or -philia is stretching my “Latin for Dummies” grammar beyond its fragile limits.

Suffice to say that your condition is terminal, with no accomplished player of UPs living to old age. Hope that makes you feel better. :smiley:

Accute Uilleannitis
It rarely ends up terminal, and being accute is remarkable for the number of obtuse people if affects. :laughing:
