Does anybody know the name of the tune that is played at www.kerrywhistles.com when you enter the site?
I know it’s McGoldrick, but I’m not familliar with the name of the tune.
Hoping not to hijack the thread of a fellow-Swede (I’m 4 generations away from Stockholm), but also I’d like to know the name of a tune on the Kerrywhistle site.
It’s an amazing waltz; the first tune John McCusker plays in the video titled “Kate Rusby, Union Chapel #1” (http://www.kerrywhistles.com/dl.php?group=10), and in Phil’s demo video of the Kerry Songbird Low D (http://www.kerrywhistles.com/dl.php?group=15#).
I’ve written to Phil to ask him but have not received a reply. Anyone else recognize it?

So, has he answeared your mail?
Anyone else who know the name of the tune?
Not a word has been heard about your question or mine…
Please I need to know!

It’s by Mike McGoldrick, is on his ‘Fused’ album, and is called: Hip Agus Hop (first part of track 12)
As to the beautiful lowD whistle track by John McCusker, it’s called Mr. Anderson’s, it’s on his cd ‘Yella hoose’. It was one of the main reasons I had to learn how to play the lowD.
Yay for Amar!
And Thanks… even though I didn’t ask, I was also wondering.
My pleasure. ![]()
Thanks, Amar!!! ![]()
I think the waltz may have been renamed somewhere along the way. It comes up in one place as Mr. Anderson’s, then in another search, the track is listed as Ann McGuire’s Silver Wedding.
