Since I’ve mentioned him in several posts on the boards through the years, I thought I’d post this here.
I found out that my old teacher, Dr. Eugene Steinquest, is no longer with us. My good friend Steve Brannon, who was my roommate at NLU in Olin Hall many many moon ago, told me the good doc has been gone a few years now.
He was an excellent teacher and a profoundly skilled musician. Even though I knew he had to be gone by now, I still find myself a bit saddened.
He was a much better teacher at the time than I was a student, I fear. Even so, I think I learned much more from him than I realized at the time.
