Amar: I own a Hoover aluminum low D. It is truly a wonderful instrument. Probably its most outstanding characteristic is its complete playability over both octaves, and beyond. It has a seamless sound, good back pressure, and exhibits no quirks. The bottom end does not boom, but produces a sound pressure level in line with the rest of the instrument. It has just enough chiff to make it interesting. This is not a loud whistle. I hope you enjoy your instrument as much as I do mine.
Best.

byll, thanks very much, that’s excellent news, I was hoping someone would write something like that…
Is it only JSW that can’t see the pic? How about you others?
I can’t see it either
something changed. I saw it yesterday but only get the red x today, just like all of those cartoons yesterday on other thread.
Wonder if there is some kind of automatic firewall built when many suddenly attempt to view things in storage sites.
It showed up for me yesterday, and still is… ![]()
Congrats on the new whistle, Amar!

See if this works:
The picture was not for public use, but since it’s been seen and wondered about, here it is. Sorry Amar, I never told you.
Low D’s are my nemeses. My funniest reject was a three piece custom made. It just wouldn’t play in tune, so the recipient sent it to another whistler (not back to me) who turned the middle section around and found
it to be in tune after all. Well, it seemed funny to me!
edited to remove an extra “for”
Second edition to say more’n one nemesis is memeses
Third edition to correct the spelling!

Jes’ keep on makin’ those low D nemeseseses, Mack. They play reeeeeal good. Nemesis would be a great model name for a lot of low D’s I have played, but not yours. You will not find my Hoover low D for sale on the board.
Best.

Mack, I’m really sorry in that case to have posted it.
But I’m sure the others aren’t… ![]()

Amar.
