I see that a Hohner ‘C’ whistle has just sold on E-Bay U.K. for £51(!).
I bid for it-but my upper limit was far below the final selling price.
I read with some good humour ,that the seller quoted Dale Wisely as saying “Arguably,the most collectable Whistle in the World.”.
Considering that I bought a Bb Hohner from a local ‘Junk shop’ for £5 only two months ago,I can’t believe my good fortune (and keen WHOA trained eye)!
Still would have liked that ‘C’ though,the Bb is a nice whistle-the timbre is very suited to ‘Jazz’(though perhaps mental associations with ‘Kwela’ may have much to do with this!)

I got my Hohner B flat for a couple dollars. That doesn’t make the fact that it was stolen from me any less painful, though. I may as well have paid a million dollars.

Ah, I should just get over it already.

I was going to give it to a friend anyway, so the monetrary or even the sentimental value isn’t what bothered (bothers) me most. Is just that fact that a person would do it, then stop posting and pretend not to be reachable (I’ve sent PMs, emails and even a paper letter) that gets to me still.
