My first post.....

This is my first post. I usually hang out in the drum corps forums, but the season is over now. I’ve been playing about a month, but I already have and advanced case of whoa. I think I may have 12 or 13 whistles floating around the house now. (mostly cheap, but not all) And, ummmm, 3 on the way? That’s not counting the frankenstien homebuilts I’m working on now. It does count a couple I’ve ruined trying to tweak though.
Ps. I noticed a post about removing heads and boiling water. Let the record show that I properly ruined a brand new acorn doing that just last night. Too hot. Warped when I tried to twist it. Acorns are on REALLY tight. It’s the paint. I wanted a pretty green body for my whitecap I have coming. Shame too. It was probably the best sounding and playing cheap whistle right out of the box I have. Just needed a little blue tack in there…From now on I’ll just pour boiling water over where the head meets the body.

Hi there, welcome. Mind if I call you Bargain Backside?

How about Tight Tush?

(Welcome, Kevin)

Bloomfield! Get your mind out of the gutter!

It’s perfectly obvious..

CHEA - Council for Higher Education Accreditation www.chea.org
pass - approve
Kevin - his name..

He’s in the education business, trying to get his program/project approved.

Welcome, kevin.

Hi, Kevin.

If you get a severe case of whoa, you may have to change your moniker.

Welcome aboard.

PhilO

Wow! Someone sorta guessed I was in education! Actually I used to be a teacher. Now I do hvac controls at the university. So I’m sorta…still in education.

I have to change now that I have whoa? Oh, if you liked Cheapasskevin, you should see what I used in the drum corps forum. Maybe I should change it, just to keep things straight.
My name there is Vomitbunny. I gots a avatar of a bunny rabbit throwing up and everything.

Hey!

A rodent avatar. Cool! (Rodents make the best avatars, you know.)

Best wishes,
Jerry

C’mon, Jerry! Everybody knows that rabbits and hares are lagomorphs, not rodents! Sheesh.

Oh, and welcome, C.A. Kevin!

better?

LAGOMORPHA: [n] rabbits; hares; pikas; formerly considered the suborder Duplicidentata of the order Rodentia

What? I was taught they’re rodents. They went and changed it! Without ASKING me. When did they do that, BTW? It just isn’t fair. People go and do all kinds of things without consulting me. What’s the world coming to?

Harumph.

Best wishes,
Jerry

Jeepers guys…if you want to tell a lagomorph from a rodent, just check out the teeth! Lags, (rabbits, hares, pikas,) have 2 pairs up upper incisors. Rodents only have one!

C’mon, guys.

Help me out here. When did they change the classification? I’m starting to feel like a geezer here.

Best wishes,
Jerry

P.S. Are capybaras still rodents?

So why is yours a whale? :GD&RFC:

Jerry, I’m bs-ing completely. I’m familiar w/the term lagomorph, but I’da said a rabbit was a rodent, too. It’s just that since Nano brought it up I took a quick peek in the dictionary.
Emily

I don’t think rodents can vomit.

Ralph is a particularly gifted rodent.

Best wishes,
Jerry

19th century… Don’t worry Jerry, geezers are cool. I’m looking forward to being one so much I’m practicing saying “Garn! Bugger off you pesky kids!” at least once a week
