Several years ago I ordered a practice Chanter off of ebay…I believe I paid a whopping $4.99 with shipping. It was very pretty made of solid maple and came with one reed. But no instructions.
Now mind you, have had never seen such a thing in my life the Chanter had holes on each end and had seven holes for notes. I placed that reed in the chanter and then began to place my lips on the reed and produced no sound at all. A matter of fact I didn’t care at this point if it did make a sound, I wasn’t putting my lips on that reed again…it just felt weird.
So after two days of messing around with it, I placed on ebay and got $6.99 for it which covered my loss.
So now i know your lips don’t go on the reed!.. 
Keep up the good work. I don’t play UP but I love to hear the adventure stories.
