I will be in San Diego from Wednesday (9/22) through Monday (9/27) with, my daughter, wife, and mother-in-law. My step-son’s getting married.
Luckily for me, fellow Chiffer, Michael Eskin has helped me find an escape from the estrogen overdose on Sunday at The Field Restaurant and Pub Session.
If you’re going to be around, I’d love to meet a bunch more of my fellow WhOA Afflicted. Drop me and e-mail or post here today or tomorrow or introduce yourself if you see a bloke looking like my avatar at the Field.
I’ll post some additional updates next week.
Looking forward to find out how folks on the west coast…
JUST KIDDING Lee! I really liked San Diego while I was there in the Navy. No whistle playing back then, but wish I had been because I had lots of time on my hands.
Enjoy your stay and enjoy playing music California style. Wish I was close enough to come and make your aquaintence.
The session at the Field that I attended was great fun…well worth the extra day I spent in San Diego so I could work it into my travel schedule. Very nice people, and a really nice mix of instruments.
Looking forward to meeting you… Mind you, there is a baseball game that same afternoon, so parking is going to be a minimum of $10.00. I recommend the lot at Market and 7th St. Others will charge you as much as $20.00…
Thanks for stopping in and playing with us on Sunday.
Unfortunately, that was about the most chaotic session we’ve ever had at The Field. Michael’s concern about the baseball game that afternoon proved prophetic, as the punters sitting behind us were certainly noisome. We also had too many players trying to squeeze into our small alloted space, making it hard to hear or play well. The session is usually much more focused, and the venue less turbulent.
You bore it all with admirable patience and good humor, though. It was a rather good game of musical chairs, at least
Please come again, and send your friends if they’re out this way.
Much Thanks to Michael and Jonathan in making me feel welcome to their session. Yes it was chaotic and loud, but it’s a pub Thanks for joining me out front and assuring me that it wasn’t me, that it was just a strange night. I got in a few tunes, and that was enough, to slack the need to play.
It was great to meet some folks who share the music and the fellowship. With a son and new daughter in-law in San Diego, I’m sure I’ll get another chance to visit again and The Field will be on my list of must visit places…
Hopefully not following a Padre’s game
Thanks to all the folks at the Field for letting me share how you …
