My Best Session Whistle is For Sale

As if I hadn’t already flooded the market…

If anyone is interested I’m offering my Cocus Thin Weasel D for Sale. As the title says, this is my best session whistle. Not the best session whistle I have at the moment, the best session whistle I’ve ever played. Cocus Rules, that’s why I had Patrick Olwell make me a flute out of the stuff.

I’m only asking $200 for this whistle, almost $100 less than Glenn charges for a brand new Soprano D made from a lesser wood - My Olwell cost $100 extra for the Cocus.

So what’s the catch? This whistle has two small cracks that appear to have been repaired by Glenn at the time of manufacture (although I can’t be sure of this), and two incredibly hard to see hairlines that appear to be cracks, but I can’t tell if they even go through the wood. The good news is:
All of these issues are located directly over the tuning slide on the tuning slide (on the headjoint side), so the slide is between the cracks and the actual functioning bore - therfor the cracks have zero effect on the whistle’s tone and playability.

B) The whistle has remained stable for at least a year now, with no special care.

I think that covers it, drop me a line if interested.

Thanks,

Loren

I wouldn’t worry about those cracks. I’ve seen Glenn repair them, and they are very stable. The wood in this area of the whistle is glued directly to the brass tuning slide anyway, which makes it VERY strong. Buy it!

The Cocus Weasel is spoken for, Thank you.

Paul, thanks for providing your insight on the issue of the stability of the cracks.
