I’m trying to get a couple of musicians together to play at a residential care home in the Kilburn area for a couple of hours some weekend between now and Christmas.

Playing in care homes is one aspect of the organization I work for, and it needn’t be a strict pro bono gig for the musicians.
We apply for (and recieve) grants from gov’t agencies, corporations, foundations, and individuals that subsidize concerts at care faciluties (and schools and hospitals and daycares). Cost to the faciluty is $150, $100, $50, or $0. Their choice of price, with the understanding that paying something ensures that more homes get more subsidy. Out here, homes range from swanky four-star establishments right down to frighteningly under-funded.
Musicians get paid the same hourly as substitute public-school teachers, and the audience is always happy to hear us.
