Has anybody had any dealings with this company?
I’m considering buying a melodica from them, but I’m always hesitant when ordering from an unfamiliar business.

I’ve been considering the purchase of one of these for a long time because I like the idea of a simple portable keyboard that doesn’t require batteries.

Musician’s Friend has a Hohner model that looks very practical and durable. Musician’s Friend has sold me lots of great quality equipment at very reasonable prices–whenever I come across something somewhere else, I check first to see if MF has it.

I think I checked Elderly, another of my favorites, for melodicas, but I don’t think they carried them.

Have you looked at melodicas.com? I don’t know about their prices, but they sure have a comprehensive collection!

I’ve never dealt with musicalinstruments.com.

I’ve never heard a melodica, the main reason I haven’t maxed my credit card for this purchase. Do they sound much like harmonicas? Or more like kazoos?

I purchased a Hohner melodica for my daughter a few years ago and I must say playing this thing doesnt inspire one to great levels of creativity. This is the flutophone of keyboards.A good moutharp is more satisfying. peace,Mike

A reggae musician named Augustus Pablo is perhaps one of the more frequently recorded artists using the melodica. Clips abound on the net including amazon.

Thanks for jogging my memory! I had one of the grey end-blown ones when I was in grades 5 and 6 at school, which is about 34 years ago! If you’d gotten good enough at playing London’s Burning on recorder you could graduate to playing Congratulations on melodica. My best mate had one that had more keys and a flexible airhose so you could play it on your lap or sitting on the desk. Very upmarket compared to mine. I came back after the September school holidays and someone had nicked it from my locker and I was too chicken to tell my Dad about it for fear of getting in trouble for leaving it there. I’d completely forgotten about it until your post!
