As the hurricane came my way and I was right in its path. I wanted a soothing but appropriate sounding tune to play as the storm raged. Southwind worked just fine. As I watched most of my farm crops blowing away along with a good part of my years pay check. Southwind on the low D whistle got me by. As the storm passed and things started looking better I gradually moved up the scale to high D… BTW I don’t know the words to the song I think of Southwind as a tune. A tune that after three days I got very good at playing in both keys G&D. I hope none of us have to go through this again anytime soon… Bob
I can do nothing but share in your song.
I put a bunch of CDs in the changer. Ready for the Storm by Deanta; Storm Force Ten by Steeleye Span; Catch the Wind by Donovan; I can’t remember the others, but they all had wind in the titles.

Hi Robert -
I’m new to the pub here… usually over at the whistle part of this forum.
I’m so sorry to hear about your crops blowing away. It really brings home what hurricanes can do besides damage houses.
I sincerely hope you can recover quickly, and am glad you are at least okay physically.
Kristen
It’s nice to see you in the pub, Kristen. Who knows? I may need more toffee help next weekend.* ![]()
*I should have my nice new sugar thermometer by then.
