Murray flutes

anyone have an e mail for sam murray? And, does he make a Bb flute?

thanks
Jeff

From what I’ve heard, you might need a great deal of good luck if you’re going to deal with Sam Murray, and it would probably be adviseable to move to Ireland until the flute is done so you can constantly check up on him, otherwise you might be looking at a 10+ years wait time and no chance for a refund.
These are just rumours I’ve heard, I have absolutely no personal experience in this matter, but lots of other people have had an extremely hard time trying to deal with Sam.

If they’re just rumours, then maybe they’re not worth mentioning? Just a thought. Jeff, Sam Murray’s phone # is +353 91 532848 (per Brad’s site).

Okay…thank you!

Well, they are rumours for me. I was hoping that some of the people who acctually have experience in this would chime in. This has been discussed quite a few times and I know that some of the board members here have reported lousy customer service. It’s nothing personal versus Sam, who is apperantly a very nice man, he’s just got some problems and he’s been ignoring duties towards his customers on many occations.

Want to do good business with Sam?

Then don’t act a bollocks, and don’t assume that you own him or his time for a few hundred lousy Euro.

Your money means very little to the likes of Sam, abhorrent as that may seem in certain quarters.

Seem strange?

If so then you should probably order from the ‘makers’ that are trawling the internet trying to please people at all costs and pick up custom, or order from some hack who worries about his customer service more than his instruments.

I highly reccommend the Murray option BTW for what it’s worth.

Regards,

Harry.

Murray flutes are rare finds as used flutes.
Actually very rare.
Tells a lot.

Contact Sam via phone.

You do have to be patient and persistent (but not a pest).

Lots of people on this site seem to have lots of flutes. I have one - a Sam Murray - and I love it. Well worth anyone’s perceived “hassle”.

Love My Murray !
Unlined Blackwood.
11 month wait almost to the day - arrived Xmas Eve '04.
Superb Instrument - Superb Crafstman and a nice fellow.
I appreciate every conversation I had with Sam.

All the Best,
Dean

Dean, do you live in the States? did you just call and place the order?
thanks ! ahh yes ! one more thing …PICTURES !!!

Wait’ll you hear Hesperus.

Yup. Sam Murray is one guy, making one flute at a time, and he’s got other stuff to do, too. It’s in all of our best interests to help people like Sam, Pat O., and other craftsmen keep liking their jobs. Otherwise it’s no flutes at all.

Meanwhile, there are used ones out there if you’re in a hurry. For a new one, it’s like Kate said.

And yeah, Murrays rock.

yes, yes, catski, why don’t you rub it in

Isn’t the correct statement “there WERE” used ones out there…until a certain boardmember snapped it up? :stuck_out_tongue:

Eric

Eric, cat once wrote me an email saying that you and I are not worthy of a Murray flute - really ! she lists Murray flutes on eBay under one name, and gets them using her other eBay name for nothing just to mess with us, to break us down, mess with our self worth.
and then she names them Asparagus ( ) and Hoss (all fruits and vegetables, like the ones she is trying to turn us into) ! it’s common knowledge, everyone knows that but us.
next time there is a Murray flute listed on eBay, I’m going to report her !

e

But seriously Eilam, I know you speak the truth, anyone who names their flute Hoss cannot be trusted… :smiling_imp:

Eric

have you noticed that every time there is a Murray flute listed for sale, no matter where it is on the globe, when you call, is the same person, covering the phone with a handkerchief and telling you “sorry, you called too late, it has been sold” ?
I once had a nightmare, my eyes were covered, and Cat was dripping on my head one Murray at a time - talking about torture !

"anyone who names their flute Hoss cannot be trusted… "
ohh I know, that alone is jail time in some places, if she were a guy, that could mean death by stones !!!

but what did you think of the Asparagus? isn’t it more like a carrot ? whats up with that !!! :boggle: :boggle:

While personally I like Asparagus, I think it’s a sign of Cruisian instability to name your flute that.

I’m going to go dig up my old wood burning pen (as advertised back in the 70s) and make all my flutes Murays (in the time honored tradition of not quite getting the name right), and I’m going to try and sell them to Cat one at a time.

Wish me luck. As for your dreams, at least it’s not a cat coughing up asperagus on your head… :stuck_out_tongue:

Eric

**** I COUGH HAIRBALLS ON THE LOT OF YE LOUTS!!! *****

Fruits and vegetables, my arse.

But fine, be that way. I’ll just turn to my room full of Murrays for comfort. :smiling_imp:

xo!

And P.S.

MURRAYS STILL ROCK.
