I have a neice who will be getting married in Connecticut next summer. She and her fiancee want ME to officiate at their wedding!
I know that in some states like MA, it is possible to petition the state for a temporary, one time authorization to perform such a ceremony, but don’t think this is the case for CT. Does anyone know more about this? Ways around the laws (legitimately, of course)? I know that there are online places that will give you an ordination in some generic type church, but I would not feel really comfortable with that. Thanks.
Perhaps I could do the whole wedding, with a JP standing by just to make it all official.
Personally , I was thinking of using the wedding scene from The Princess Bride as my script: “Mawwiage, is what bwings us together today. Wove, twue, wove…”
Don’t know, but if push comes to shove, you can do the cermony before, during or after they stand in front of the judge… We had one for ours who would have loved the idea.
