Movie preview: Shining

Someone took clips from the 1980 Steven King film The Shining, and
put together a movie trailer that makes it look like the Feel Good Family
Movie of the year. It’s probably only funny if you’re familiar with the movie,
but it does teach us not to judge a film solely by the trailer. (For example,
my friend was surprised to discover that Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride is a musical.)

I’m a fan of most of Steven Kings writing and The Shining is one of my favorites. This movie version was ok, if you don’t compare it to the book, which of course, was much better. Without Jack Nicholson though, this movie would not have been nearly as good.

I still think of the Shining everytime I see topairy animals. That was one of the scariest things in the book for me.
