Has anybody tried fitting a reed to the bell of a chanter? Maybe it would sound like the belowing noise the tripods make in the new War of the Worlds (best performance in the film if you ask me!).

Damn fine pilot too. Apart from killing his buddy by shooting him up into the glass bubble thingy. But apart from that DAMN fine pilot.

Just so I’m clear, does this also mean that Top Gun is gayer than the collected directorial works of Jim Sharman (or, taking cue from your avatar, Buddy Cole)?
Everybody knows the REAL stars of Top Gun were the F-14s, A-4s, and F-5s! The only reason to watch that movie is the AIRPLANES!!

Actually, its a screenshot from a flight simulator program. I always wanted to see if the catapult on a super carrier could handle a Boeing 727!

YES!! Me too, the Archer II! I loved that airplane, and I will forever be a low-wing man. I flight instructed in Cessna’s for a few years, and while I got good at flying the high-wing, I never came to like it as much. Good thing my Boeing is a low-wing!

just noticed that the right nose wheel is in the catapault track and airdale that is doing the run up is WAY behind the cockpit 
Other than that, an interesting Jimmy Doolittle kinda moment

i didn’t actually think it to be a real photo - just a joke - much like the original event.
Oh I did’nt think you took it seriously pudinka, I was just telling you how I did it. And yes, the very idea of a 727 on a carrier deck was indeed supposed to be so unbelievable as to incite at least mild amusement!
Sorry, it reminded me of the event & the guy who got his flight training in the Texas Air Guard about 35 years ago - the photo op on the deck of the carrier, with his jumpsuit wedged in his crotch, etc…nothing real about it.
