For those who missed it the last time, I’m going to be playing again with the band Quin next Saturday, May 7th at the Plough & Stars in San Francisco. Traditional Irish music on whistle, fiddle, uilleann pipes, flute & guitar, with some songs thrown in.
Well, we had some lovely solos from BoneQuint on Saturday. It ended up being kind of a crazy night, but it was fun.
The usual suspects include Conall O’Raghallaigh the piper, Kieran Marsden on flute, Tedd “Mr. Wonderful” Colt on guitar, Michael Stack on the fiddle, Doreen O’Reilly singing, and myself on whistle.
J.
P.S. Thanks to all who came out!
Next gig at the Plough is June 4th.
It was a fun show and a good night! I liked the variety – different instrumentation, and a fair amount of songs thrown into the mix. The folks sitting next to me said, “she has a nice voice” when the whistle-player sang a song (and I agree). The guitar was a bit loud in the mix for me though. Although not when he was fingerpicking along to a song. I guess it’s the pick’s fault. I had fun doing a little bit of rattling, and the bodhrán player who sat in on a tune was quite good.
Aww, thanks.
Yeah, I think we need to work on the mixing a bit…there has been some talk of spending some money to get better equipment, cause some of the mikes are not working too well, especially Michael’s.
It was definitely a good night, though! Great crowd.
