MINKLE FLUTE? Anyone ever heard of it?

Someone loaned me a nice keyless flute. Five parts, brass fittings, lined headjoint, tuning holes on the end. It’s marked MINKLE. No more, no less.

A Google search turned up nothing. Anybody know who or what?

There happens to be an ad on the “Flutes Wanted” section of Brad Hurley’s wooden flute exchange.

The advertiser is looking for a flute by Mark Minkler, and mentions that they were sold by Lark in the Morning some years ago.

Who would have known? Thanks!

I’ve played a Minkler briefly at a session in San Fransisco. I thought the flute played great, lot’s of tone and volume, good intonation. It didn’t weigh much, made in boxwood. I’ve only played the one, I wonder if all his flutes play like that.
I hadn’t heard of his flutes before that. Does anyone know anything about the maker?
