Michael Vignoles in Seattle

Just thought I’d let yiz know that pipemaker Michael Vignoles will be in Seattle this weekend as part of the pre-Paddy’s Day festivities. Galway and Seattle are sister cities and have been since 1986.

From web site: http://www.irishclub.org/center.htm

"Michael Vignoles, piper and craftsman from The Claddagh part of Galway City, is visiting Seattle for the Irish Week Festival at the Seattle Center. Michael has been hand-making traditional Uilleann pipes and Bodhrans for over 20 years and his pipes are played by some of Ireland and America’s most talented Uilleann pipers and Bodhran players.
Michael will conduct workshops on the Pipes and Bodhran on Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM in Rm 311, Upper Level Center House (across from the Glass Elevator). His pipes and bodhrans are also on sale at one of the booths in Center House. "

This is a coincidence. I’ve his tape - wood, wind and brass. I’ve not listened to it in years but his morning, for some inexplicable reason, I put it in the walkman and listened to it on the bus to work. Ha!!

Does anyone know any “top” player playing a Vignoles set of pipes?
Just curious and no hard feelings.

Umm, yes, a name was quoted at an Irish festival I was just attending . . . I’ll try to get the name from my source and get back to you on that. Sorry to dig up an old post like this, but I had to respond, and I’ll be posting on Michael Vignoles soon after I finish writing this.
