Anyone know what’s the title of the tune he’s playing in the file: ( Mike McGoldrick_Cambridge_02 ) - under movies ? I’ve been trying to transcribe it … but haven’t had much luck … so am thinking of cheating =)
I know he probably played this with flook as I remember hearing it on one of there albums before Rubai, probably Flook Live!
The tune Mike is playing is off his first CD “Morning Rory”,it’s called "Trip to Britanny"played on a Chieftain F.

I went to tunedb and looked for ‘trip to brittany’ but nothing came up, so did the smart thing and looked for McGoldrick and i found it

I would guess Hervé is Breton so “Trip to Hervé’s” is technically “Trip to Brittany.” I’m sorry, Ghoeti, would you like you pish back?

What I am trying to say is that Trip To BRITTANY is also a tune on McGoldrick’s cd, but it’s not the one asked for. So, when people say the tune’s name is Trip to Brittany it will lead to great confusion for the one asking. But, Trip to Britanny is indeed a nice tune too, so it’s recommended if you want to some more tunes to the repertoir.
Conclusion: Trip to Hervé’s and Trip to Britanny are two different tunes and two great tunes.

Herve: last name is Villechaize. Also known as “Tattoo”, Mr. Rourke’s sidekick on “Fantasy Island”. I think he also appeared in a James Bond movie.
I didn’t realize that he had inspired an ITM tune. Then again, I could be thinking of the wrong Herve…

Herve is a common first name in Brittany for males. There are more than a few Breton musicians named Herve. Any saint associated with wolves is alright.
