Any ideas for something inexpensive to protect an A whistle? It doesn’t have to be crush-proof–mainly something to protect from scratches and dust.
I got the medium sized soft case from The Whistle Shop - it holds my Serpent Sunsinger A without any problems (the Sunsinger probably qualifies as a “large bore” A whistle - my Syn A is a lot skinnier). It also works fine for my Chieftain Bb
Nice bag, soft liner, and a foldover top that fastens with velcro. Since you can adust where you fold it over, this bag could probably manage a Chieftain or Overton Alto G whistle OK, but it’s too short for my F and lower whistles.
In a pinch a mailing tube works beautifully. You can get them in different sizes at Staple, Office Depot and probably even Walmart. You didn’t say it you just wanted protection or snazzy looking protection. I keep a low D Tipple Flute in a mailing tube because I don’t play it very often. Hope this helps.
