Yes, I have one of Rob Forkner’s drums and they are indeed truly superb. My other drum is a Seamus O’Kane. Both are absolutely brilliant drums and I recommend them 110%.

My thoughts exactly. This is the sort of bodhran played while doing the Timewarp.
Uncanny, I was thinking the same thing. 
Well I was thinking something a bit different. I was imagining a large number of bodhran players being fed through the mincer and made into meatloaf. 
At first I thought Phil was beating on a meatloaf and pretending it was a bodhran. But after reading the previous posts, I now have “Let’s do the timewarp agaaaaaaaain!!” stuck in my head. Next thing you know, I’ll be jumping to the right…or was it to the left? Not that it matters either way because no one will know WHY I’m doing it, and they’ll think I’ve lost it 
All slagging aside, they are great drums.

I’ve been playing bodhran for about 18 years now (for fun, at sessions, and as a pro with a day job).
I have different favorites for different purposes. Grady’s drums are superb for the all-around bodhran sound.
I’ve owned four Metloefs (Metloeves?) now. Nothing beats a smaller Metloef (12" or 14" diameter) for punching out the mid to high end. They have a surprisingly good bottom end for their size as well. Super flexible skins allow the player a huge sonic palette. Highly recommended. (Oh, my gawd, I sound like an eBay user!)

Is there a UK outlet for these drums? I’d love to take a look.
My own main drum is a lovely tunable Belgarth 16" which is built like a brick outhouse. My second favourite is a cheap Pakistani non-tunable which has an amazing skin: really flexible with patches that give loads of different sounds. Looks like a piece of cr*p but sounds great.
The Metloefs certainly look pretty. My curiosity is now officially engaged…

BTW - What’s the difference between cutting up an onion and cutting up a bodhran??? - Answer - People cry when they cut up onions!!!
Ah, talk of the “Time Warp” brings me back to memories of my wedding day!
My wife was a big fan of Rocky Horror way back when and she always said that she wanted to do the Time Warp at her wedding. So, the entire wedding party got out on the floor and did the Time Warp.
I must say that I have some elderly Aunts and Uncles who I think were really thinking that we had lost our minds.
