I’ve been playing folk tunes & songs lately, and last night while waiting for my ride to show up, as I stood outside on lower Haight in San Francisco, I worked thru my most recently memorized (well, almost memorized) song, Mercedez Benz. As you can imagine, it sounds a LOT different on the whistle than when Janis does it.
So imagine my surprise & delight when a random passer-by started SINGING the song along with my playing. She recognized it! O, how happy I was…
