Meeting Lee Marsh...

Met up with Lee today at Slainte’s…
Who’d have known that it was a trendy clubber atmostphere on friday nights? (well, I suppose I shoulda..)

Lee’s a great guy, and very fun to talk to…he brought me a really nifty leather whistle carrier that’ll clip to my belt and fit right in at ren-fairs… I was all shamed because I didn’t think to bring him a welcoming gift. :frowning: I’ll be putting pictures up on the website soon!

He’s got a nice set of whistles…entirely different makers than my set, so we both could hear and try new stuff..I think he really liked my thin weasel (and I likewise developed whistle lust for his burke composite..i think it may be easier to play than my silkstone! And I just put a whistle on order..arrgh!)

Slainte’s was loud, and we really didn’t get to play anything, so we’re hoping to meet up again at the Sunday session and get some good tunes in.

Greg has been great, introducing me around the Houston session crowd. We met at Slainte’s for the Sunday afternoon session, great time had by all, with a nice mix of tunes, songs, and misc.

Unfortunately Slainte dedication to the music conflicts with it desire to make money so, the pub going to be closed on Sundays. The folks there told me they’re moving the session to The Harp for next Sunday, a new venue should interesting.

Mean while, its the Mucky Duck on Wednesday for another session. Strange name for a pub, Mucky Duck, sounds like some more common pub names after several guinesses.
