I’ll be there tomorrow, with several 15 year old girls who will undoubtedly be ditching me at their earliest convenience.
Maybe I can sit down and listen to music this year. It will be a first.
I was gonna respond with my standard, “You didn’t give me enough notice!” but then I realised I’m too far away now anyway. ![]()
Have fun!!!
We missed all the Ren Faires around here this year. They’re kind of cheesy, but we enjoy them. Never tried going in costume, though. Might have to try that someday just for kicks.
Costume is fun… looking at other…ummm… ideas… of costume is as well… if some of the patrons are at all accurate, there must have been a large percentage of trollops and harlots in them there days… oh my! ![]()
I’ve never been to a Ren-fest, but have the garb and yes, it is fun.
Our church Christmas to-do is generally done in costume-since I volunteered to make them a couple of years ago. We’ve got all manner of houplandes, coathardies, and reticulated headresses.
Making the hats is my favorite part. They had some amazing creations.
Although I’ve made more elaborate and labor intesive ones, this is my favorite. Mostly it’s put together with straight pins.

If I wasn’t stuck in Louisiana I’d be thrilled to meet someone from the board. We were going to rent a car to come back into Virginia this weekend, but lo-and-behold there are no cars to rent! ![]()
I’ve got one reserved for next weekend. We’ll see …
Best,
LJ
You went one day too early. I will be there tomorrow since on labor day anyone over 62 gets in free. I think I can pass. Did you buy an Olwell flute Emm?
Ron
Yet again, I did not buy an Olwell flute. I admired them, and I listened to the samples they were playing, but I’m a little fiddle obsessed at the moment and just can’t throw one more thing into the mix.
