Mayock's Grip?

Any of you folks ever seen Emer Mayock play? How does she grip the flute - “classic” style, piper grip, something else? Does she shoulder up?

I’ve got a bet with some folks out here in Tejas…

Regards,
Jamey.

I’ve seen her once; as far as I remember, she plays ‘classic’, no shoulder up…

If you win the bet, can I get a percentage cut?

Damn

Thanks a million for the official answer, Deirdre! Afraid I lost though - I had money riding on the piper grip. :sunglasses:

Ya win some, ya lose some, I guess…

Thanks anyway!

Regards,
Jamey.

hello,
emer actually uses a piping grip on flute. she doesn’t do any strange posturing or anything, just sits up straight with her flute and embouchure at a slight angle. pure class.
all the best,
evangelos

Yep, I concur. Straight fingers all the way. ‘pipers grip’ as people seem to be calling it (some would consider it a bad habit… ‘pipers grip’ that is, not flute playing  ! ) I have’nt seen her pop a back D out yet though!

Regards, Harry.
