There is a Martin Doyle keyless D flute (no tuning slide) available for sale in Canberra, Australia. It is owned by Sarah Jones who tells me, “I bought it in July 2000, directly from Martin in Bray. It has been played, maybe 6 times and is in pristine condition. It has the wooden case and certificate of authenticity.” The trouble is that her hands are too small to cover the tone holes properly and she has since bought a smaller Terry McGee flute. If anyone is interested, they can contact me and I will forward her details and some pics. I have not seen the flute and am not involved in the sale as such.
Hiyah everyone. I have just joined the forum. Below are some more details of my flute if you are interested.
Thanks very much to Shardul for posting the photo and to Terry for my gorgeous new instrument that suits my little hands.
My Martin Doyle flute is in pristine condition, and only used half a dozen times. It comes with a wooden (pine), velvet lined box and certificate of authenticity, dated 30 June 2000. It is made of African Blackwood, is in 2 parts and has 3 sterling silver rings and no tuning slide. It also has a wooden cleaning rod.
Sarah
Yes, the KiwiCelt web site is no more - it has ceased to be! Bereft of life, it rests in peace…
Some of the KiwiCelt content will be transfrered to my blog soon. KiwiCelt was originally created to promote Martin Doyle’s flutes (especially those made in New Zealand woods), and as Martin Doyle now has his own web site - Martin Doyle Flutes - I no longer felt the need to maintain the KiwiCelt site.
