Somebody asked for the ABC two weeks ago. As I just have returned from my holidays and am too silly to use the archivers : Do you get it since or do you need it still ? If so, email me to my private email and I will do best as I can.

You wouldn’t happen to know the origin of the tune, would you?
I’d like to record it, but fear copyright violations.
Since nobody seems to know the origin of the tune, I’m going to post the ABC notation here in the hope that I won’t be violating any copyrights.
I would still very much like to record this tune for inclusion in my current project, but still fear copyright issues.

Thanks! That is a gorgeous tune, and your timing is excellent. I’m going away for a week. I printed out the PDF so I can take this with me.
TK (who now can’t understand ever having travelled without at least one whistle.)
wow raindog, so finally you have been faster than me…and I don´t have to write it down, cause I just learned it by ear from Joanie Maddens Album A whistle on the wind, where she says that she has learned it from Marcus Hernon himself (who as far as I know composed it and is still alive so surely owns the copyright…)

Hi!
Marcus Hernon is a flute and whistle player from Galway. He has written a bunch of tunes and made some CD’s.
Info on “Marcus Hernon’s Air” can be found at this site:

A great place if you want more info on Irish tunes. It seem that this tune has been written for Joanie as it only appears on her WotW album.
Cheers!

(Edit: Missed a few letters, one more. OK)
