What tone!! ![]()
His flutes looks very nice - big and beefy. I’d like see one next to an R&R. Is it just me, or do Marcus’s flutes looks huge? And he’s not a small guy!

- Ryan
Where can one find pictures of his flutes?
.
hello David

Hello Ryan,
Marcus has a powerful style of flute playing. He really force the tone out of the instrument. I recorded Marcus in he´s kitchen with a minidisc.
The right thing to do would be to let Marcus stay in the kitchen and put the minidisc outside.
According to Mr. Hernon, his flutes are closely modeled after a Rudall Carte with “reasonably small holes”. Marcus says he has small hands so, all things considered, I doubt his flutes are particularly “Beefy”. Guess I’ll find out in about three months or so, when mine arrives.

It looks to me from his website like his flutes have a very managable reach. They look a lot like my Copley, but with slightly smaller silver rings. Very pretty flutes!
And hey, Loren’s back! Good to see you, man! And since you’re still in Boulder and you have a flute on the way, I’m guessing things are going well on the job front, so congrats on that! You gonna be around a bit more, or is this a one-time visit? (Actually, I guess if it’s a one-time visit, I won’t get an answer to that question.)

Interesting! Well, the pictures to me sure looked like they were big, especially considerding he looks like a pretty stout fella and the flute doesn’t look that small in his hands. Anyway, great sounding flute (with him behind it), and I’m sure you’ll love yours!

If I compare my Murray with the Hernon, there are no differens in sizes. The Hernon is a little more heavy.
Thanks Steven. Yeah, things are better on the job front, and life in general has stabilized for me quite a bit, thank goodness.
Still, I don’t think it’s likely you’ll see me around here often, I mostly just stop by to see if there is anything interesting for sale.
All the best,
Loren
Good to hear!
Gotta stock back up on flutes, eh? Well, I’m sure you’ll enjoy both the process and the fact that you’ve got flutes to play!

Well, I don’t know about “Stocking Up”, can’t really afford to do that. I’m just looking to cover the basics at this point - simply having a flute at all is a treat at the moment.
