Making use of your time

When I practice I play a few tunes, then stop and address things that need taken care of, like loose wrappings, or tweaking reeds that need tweaking. In this way, problems get taken care of in short order; and I avoid playing tune after tune endlessly, which isin’t the best way to practice anyway. Perhaps this will be a useful suggestion for some.

Kevin you must be really bored… :boggle: I am surprised ye get any time for playing let alone practice given the amount of your contributions to the board!!!

I don’t get bored, I get frustrated. I spend as little time tuning etc. as possible, and just play through it. As the reeds warm up, most problems seem to take care of themselves. I do play things over again, and over and over, and then over some more, slow and fast. I find that taking things apart and spending too much time working on the bits and pieces doesn’t help to put the whole tune together, but instead ends up as a patchwork of faster and slower pieces.

Don’t pick on Kevin. He is just moving things along, owing to the lack of your own original input.
