Making progress

Well, I’ve been playing for about 2-1/2 months now and I’m pleased with my progress so far. I’ve been getting better by the day and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Forbes flute so I can move to the next chapter.

About a month or so ago someone posted a question about hitting the a to c rocking pedals in “The Gravel Walks”. That got my curiosity up so I checked out the tune and I liked it so much I decided I’d try to learn it. I know… big chunk to bite off for a beginner. Anyway I’m really getting it! I’m surprised that I’m able to really pick up speed on it and hit all of the notes. I’m not ready to record it yet, but the progress is encouraging. Or so it seemed.

I just had to dig around on YouTube and find this (which in the interest of cutting to the chase, I’ve edited down and put on my server)

So now I’d like to announce that I’m quitting the flute and taking up stump blasting, base jumping and heavy drinking. Not necessarily in that order. :boggle:

Henke - pass me the whisky!

Regards,

Kirk

Me too! Henke, pour two glasses, and make mine a double!

Wow, anyone ever tell you that you look quite a bit like that Matt Molloy fellow?

Gravel Walks… good tune to learn on.

Lots of stuff in there.

Most everyone will know it too.

And to think, he’s only had a mere 22 years to work on “cleaning it up a bit” since that was filmed in 1987. lol
