Making a whistle using a recorder mouthpiece

I was using the (pat. pending) hacksaw blade reamer as well, but I had made a slightly adjustable one out of steel, hacksaw, and set-screws. I had three head-joints step-bored quite nicely, and was reaming them to final size at slow speed on a big Southbend metal lathe. After two grand successes, I got cocky with the third, overheated it, and made a big mess. All my stock was wild-grained, being reject blanks from the Buffet clarinet factory, so there was tension in the wood to begin with.
