any tips for making a wood whistle ie
how do you drill it ect
fancy giving it a go
Taity, go for it! There is more than one way to skin the cat, so to speak.
There are a couple of web sites you could study for a while to get some ideas. These illustrate flute making but the concepts are the same.

YouTube has a few videos available as well on pipe making and such. Make sure to look at the tool benches for all the stuff that gets used in the process. The Canadian TV show “How It’s Made” had this little episode on recorder making - again, another cat, but the methods can be adapted.

And, of course, this topic has come here on C&F before. This is one of the more recent discussions.

These should get you started thinking about the tasks necessary overall. All three sources use different methods but the common steps should pop out at you. The process I am wrestling with is similar to what is described by Terry McGee. There are also forums where these processes are discussed, such as the Flutemakers forum on Yahoo.
Hope that helps.

Do you drill your holes Deiseil? or Widdershins? ![]()
(For those with no Irish, Deiseil {DAY-schill} means “sunwise/clockwise”. Widdershins {WHID-er-shins} means "anti-sunwise/anti-clockwise)
