Maire Ni Ghrada ?

Uilleann Pipes

Are there any videos or CDs with Maire Ni Ghrada playing her flat Woof C set. I was looking on You Tube, but there is only one (OLD) video,
with her Froment C set http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0-g3vFvcy8 Truly beautifull playing and sound! Thanks AA

I have video tape recording from RTÉ Television programme “Leargas” “More Power To Your Elbow” about Uilleann Pipes.

Maire Ni Ghrada is playing her Geoff Wooff C set with Geoff on his Harrington C Set

Also on the video recording that I can remember for now
Nollaig Mac Cárthaigh (D set)
Seán and Seán Óg Potts (B and D sets)
Gay, Conor & Seán McKeon (D sets)
Eoin Dillon (D set)
Seán McKiernan (D set)
Paddy Moloney (D set)
Can’t remember if Ronan Browne on B set is on programme. It has been about year from the last time I watched the video.

I will post a short summary of the programme later

I will try and get the video converted to DVD and maybe onto youtube.

Cheers

… is awesome.

She was on Geantrai or something a few months back, but I believe she played her D set the whole time? Still, if you like her piping might be worth a search …

4

There’s about 20 minutes of Maire Ni Ghrada playing her D set on NPU’s Source in the video section.

5

Ferg, that would be awesome, thank you  Nice to hear that someone have something from her ! AA

I have transferred the VHS tape to DVD and have one half of the RTÉ Television programme “Leargas” “More Power To Your Elbow” about Uilleann Pipes upload on youtube.

Thanks for the upload “More power to your elbow” Fergmaun. I didn’t know about this documentary. I assume/hope that Marie is piping in the second half on her C yoke. Nice to see Liam in a suit with the Coyne set.

Thanks also for the “Ceird an Cheoil” doc. Haven’t watched it for a while. There’s some nice music in there, and good to hear Geoff Wooff talking, I’d almost forgotten that Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh had gone to instrument making college in London for a year and then worked with Geoff.

Nice to see Liam in a suit with the Coyne set.

No Liam on this Rowsome D set.

I assume/hope that Marie is piping in the second half on her C yoke.

Yes she is.

I am editing the DVD again as just read that you can now upload to youtube 15 minutes in lengths.

So you will hear from me later.

Really nice clip of Ennis I had not seen thanks. What’s the tune he’s plying very familiar but I can’t think of the title right now?

16

wow thanks Fergus, that was really brilliant…enjoyed it, cheers.

Marie plays “The mountain road” & “Woman of the house” together with Geoff Wooff in the first part about 6:45 min. into the clip. The Harrington & the Wooff go well together  Seems to have been recorded 2001-2002?

Everyone should buy this man a pint. Thanks, Fergus!
