has anybody heard of this song or know of a recording of it?

My Gaeilge is iffy, but does that translate as “Too Early in the Morning” or “A Too-Early Morning”? I know a 3-part jig called in English “Up and About in the Morning”. I wonder if they’re the same.

I threw it into google and found only one reference as a song:

(I don’t know what ‘Sof’ is … most entries were marked ‘LP’.) The reference page is:

It’s cross-referenced (in ibiblio) to ‘Early one Morning’ which has more references, but
I presume those translate the whole song, not just the title.

There’s a handful more results as an air (slightly different if searched with and without the
accent on the o) but it seems largely unrecorded as a song.

didn’t realise it was in ó canainn’s book, i haven’t read it in years.
after much rooting i finally found it last night. and there it was words and all.
