low whistles with angled head section?

Howdy,

Have a look at http://www.susato.com/Susatowhistles.htm
about half-way down at the low whistles with the angled head section. Pretty funky looking.

Anyone played a low whistle of this design? Is it any easier to play?

John

Looks like a nifty piece of plumbing.

Colin Goldie also experiments with angled heads on low whistles. Looks better on the Overtons. Never played one, would like to try - with the risk of starting to move like a sax player

some Overton prototypes...

funky

I know these designers are doing their best, but wouldn’t it be simpler and cheaper to do this…

It improves comfort for the player and it doesn’t distort the air column with twists and turns.
